CC is showing off her new and beautiful Tie Dye Dress!  I love seeing kids expressing their personalities through their own style.  Color and comfort is what she is after...oh and there is always something funky going on with her hair!

I admire my 5 year old for not caring what others think and not going along with the crowd.  She knows what she likes and she goes for it!  We can all learn a little something from the children of the world!

Mom, I'm Bored

Summer vacation is here for those of us with kids in school and a lot of us are wondering how to fill our days.  If you have kids home and are dreading the inevitable, Mom, I'm bored, then you might like this idea.  My girls, 8 and 5, sat down and made a list of 22 things they could do any day of the week.  The list consists of watering the garden, going on a bug hunt, exploring a new area in the yard, playing hide and seek, making a scavenger hunt, and many other fun things.  Now, when the kids say, I'm bored, I tell them to go look at the list and do something on it.  With 22 things to choose from, there is no excuse for being bored...and if they are still 'bored', there is always a chore list! Happy Summer Vacay!!

Hip Sister Review: Sunny Day Hip Pack

The Sunny Day Hip Pack is my favorite summer accessory!  This is not your mama's fanny pack!  This Sunny Day Hip Pack takes the old school concept and reinvents it to suit your hippie style and provide the ultimate in convenience.  With summer approaching, I am gearing up for festie season.  This pack is the perfect solution for carrying the important things (keys, money, I.D., cell phone) while still being hands free and able to dance at your favorite shows. 

When I'm wearing my baby at a local farmer's market, this pack lets me carry everything I need without struggling with a bag on my shoulder.  It can even fit a cloth diaper! 

 My husband and I own a food truck and this pack is so much cuter than an apron when I'm taking orders and collecting money- plus super functional.

The pack has one fixed pocket and one pocket that can be worn either in front or back.  Both have zippers to secure your valuables and are super roomy.  It is attached with velcro in the back so its completely adjustable.  I love the applique designs and the pack goes with just about any outfit- skirts, jeans, shorts, etc.  Even better, these packs are made using fabric scraps so its made with the environment in mind. 

If there was one accessory I'd choose for this summer, it would be the Sunny Day Hip Pack!

Happy Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing women out there.  Go ahead and celebrate yourself today!  Here is a picture of me with my mom a couple of years ago.  My mom raised 4 daughters and I think of her every day as I raise my 2 girls....I catch myself sounding like her, saying things that she used to say to me, or just wondering how she would handle a certain Mothering situation.  Have a great day Mamas!

Feature Friday: Soulful Sundress

The Soulful Sundress is such a lovely, unique dress! It is made by stitching diverse fabrics from recycled vintage clothing and the fabric choices are so colorful and charming. Each dress is different. It's hard to choose just one!

 I especially love the blue fabric on the back of my dress and the tie-back waistband really brings out the beautiful colors! I love how the Soulful Sundress just gives you that easy-summer feel, too. Just tie-straps over the shoulders and a little side zipper---I also like that the fabric is really strong cotton so I don't have to worry about wearing a bra.

The Soulful Sundress is a 'free size'---and I generally wear an XS. It runs just a tad big on me in the bust, but fits great otherwise, especially with the tie-back waistband. I'd say it would definitely fit comfortably for small and medium build gals. ~Michele

Feature Friday: Pinky Pie Wrap Top

I know, I know, everytime I get a new item from Hip Mountain Mama I say "this is my FAVORITE item EVER!" Well...I'm gonna have to say it again:) This wrap top is by far one of the comfiest items I've ever worn, the super soft stretchy jersey is perfect for all body types and sizes, and oh so flattering. Hugs you in allll the right places and yet is still very flowy and loose.

I absolutely LOVE it! I adore the teal & pink colors~so very perfect for the upcoming Summer Festival months~you are SURE to get compliments in this beauty:) The fluttery sleeves have a slight little opening which gives it a very "fairy~like" feel...so adorable.

Another feature I love about this top is the tunic length~wear with a long skirt, a cute mini or jeans...you pretty much cannot go wrong with this adorable top! Now ladies if you know what's good for ya~you'll go buy it! :) ~Raegan

'Wearing' My Children

We are getting excited about the upcoming festival season!  Here is a photo of me with my daughter Magnolia a few years ago at NedFest.  We have worn our children in slings, wraps, and many other carriers over the years.  At 8 and 5 we don't carry them anymore, but we sure did enjoy the closeness and ease these carriers provided us!  From festivals, to traveling, and just around the house, carrying our children is something we will cherish forever!
