I have had a strong feeling lately that I need to bring in more positive and inspiring things into my life. I need to surround myself with beautiful, creative, authentic, and positive things and people. Leave the negativity, fakeness, and unkind things behind and look ahead with a fresh start. Winter is always an inward time for me and this year is no different. It is a time to reflect on my behavior, my surroundings, my passions, and everything going on in my life..good or bad. It is a time to stop living on auto pilot, slow down, and really focus on things that make me happy. One thing that I learned from an E Course I am taking right now, Inside Out, is to think about the things you do not value in your life, then let those things go so you can focus on the things you do value. Seems really simple, right? Well in concept it is easy and it is a really important practice, but it does take some time and inner work to figure these things out. I am slowly coming out on the other side with thoughts of strictly surrounding myself with loving, inspiring, kind, and authentic people. And with doing things that make me happy, foster my creativity, make me laugh, and evoke good feelings. I am also working on creating a home filled with light, positivity, inspiration, and lots of love.

With all this being said, it is what has led me to creating an Inspiration Board (and the advice from a good friend). I have made vision boards before, but this is different. My board will be filled with quotes, photos, and items that really inspire me to live life to it's fullest. To do what I enjoy with lots of laughs and good folk.

I just started this board a few days ago and it is a work in progress, but I am thrilled to have it in place. Thrilled to have a place to put my inspiring things and thrilled to have a board to look at to lift my spirits and get me pumped.

So, I am wondering...do you have an inspiration board or some area in your home that is filled with things that you love? Or...do you have a quote you think I should add to my board?

Looooooooovvvvvvveeeeeee it!!! So happy you are in my life. What an inspiration you are to so many...
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannon! What I should really do is put up a big picture of you on my board! You inspire me!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely idea! Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I put my 'inspiration quotes' in my journal. But once I close it, I forget about them. Putting on a board where they can be glanced at many times a day is a much better idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Dana...I have been posting quotes on my facebook page and then forgetting about them. I actually went back through my facebook posts to collect quotes I have enjoyed lately. Having them somewhere that I can see them daily has been very good for me!
ReplyDeleteI have quotes on my fridge. Some aren't really quotes, but merely reminders of who I want to be and how I want to live. I have a special one about children that I read all the time to keep it forefront in my mind. I pulled out canvas to make inspiration boards with my kiddos. We just need to do it. Tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea, especially for households with kids. My son's teacher asked all the parents to send in an encouraging note for the week of standardized tests. Something he can look at every day before he begins the test. Also a great idea, along the same line as an inspiration board. Also, I have a quote on my fridge that I cut out of an Oprah magazine in 2001 and has traveled with me through three moves. It is from Marianne Williamson "I place my life in the hands of God each day. And I trust that He knows what He's doing, even when I do not." Always been a good thing to remind me that I am not in control (and I don't have to be!)
ReplyDeleteLove it, you have inspired me to do the same. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteSuch an awesome idea and what a great positive experience.
