Fairy Spotting

This morning while I was enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch after hanging out laundry on the line, Magnolia made a discovery. She asked me "Mom, what is the shiny sparkly stuff on these leaves?" I made the suggestion that it was fairy dust and I saw her eyes get very big with wonder. She called over her sister and without hearing what they were saying, I watched them have a very serious conversation.
Before I knew it, they had added on the the existing fairy home complete with furniture, trees, and gnomes to keep the fairies company.

I sat back with my coffee smiling at the spontaneously creative play they had made for themselves!

  3. I love moments like those. I can just see the look on her face, and then conspiring whispers that followed.

  4. Mmmmm, and those fairy dust leaves are edible...did you know?? They are called lambs quarters, and I recently blogged about them-they are very delicious and alot like spinach, it's wild cousin!! Pick, nibble raw, enjoy!!

** For safety sake, DO DOUBLE CHECK, but I'm fairly confident that they are indeed lambs quarters :-)
