When it was time to go over to Mishawaka for the Hot Buttered Rum show we walked over to the campground and loaded up on a very large pick up truck with about 10 other concert goers. As soon as we walked into Mishawaka, I was floored. This was my first time at Mishawaka (or The Mish, as the locals call it) and it is hands down my favorite place to see a concert. It is pretty hard to top Red Rocks or Lyons, but in my opinion, Mishawaka takes the cake.
With the river flowing right behind the stage, the massive rock behind the river, and the amazing energy in the place, how could you not have an incredible time at Mishawaka? All this beauty and energy would have been enough to make me happy, but there were many other events that occurred adding to the specialness of the night. I chatted with a few members of the band before the show and even got to go back stage at set break to hang out with the band. They signed a few CDs for me to auction off at a silent auction for Raintree Community School that we are holding August 1 (more details on this to come). All this, hanging out with old and new friends, and dancing to some amazing music by my favorite band, made for the best night of my summer so far!

Hot Buttered Rum is absolutely an amazing band with music that makes you dance and also makes you think. I have felt inspired, energized, and moved while listening to their music. Seeing them live at The Mish was very special for me! If you are ever in the area, head on over to the Mish. Go for a show or go for lunch...I promise, you won't be disappointed!!
Enjoy
